Asake Reenacts Olamide’s Musical Energy

Asake is reenacting the early elements of his mentor, Olamide Baddo Sneh. He is here for business, not to mess around.

Raving artiste, Asake has continued to shook Nigerian airwaves with fascinating singles week in, week out.

Barely one week after the music video for ‘Peace, Be Unto You‘ (PBUY) debuted; Asake returned to the studio to work with labelmate and sensational artiste, Fireboy DML.

The new single, ‘Bandana‘ debuted during the early hours of Friday, June 24, several days after it was announced. This would be the first official single Olamide‘s Yahoo Boy No Laptop‘s wards would be working on together.

Of course, both artistes would be collaborating more extensively in the near future.

While, Fireboy has become a household name across the country and recently bagging a nomination at the 2022 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, his colleague, Asake is gradually etching his name on the list of quintessential modern day creatives.

Ololade Mi Asake whose real name is Ahmed Ololade is utilizing Olamide’s methodologies during his early days in the music industry. Asake is launching his lyrical missiles and firing all cylinders to announce to Nigerians that he is prepared to become a mainstay in the entertainment sector.

Reminiscent of Olamide’s execution in the 2010s. Nigerians were honoured with nine comprehensive studio albums in a decade, including three collaboration music projects and an annual live performance (with the exemption of 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus lockdown).

The Influential Olamide

Equally, Olamide is working on his tenth studio album, ‘Unruly‘ which he hinted could be his final music project.

Regardless of where Olamide decides to go or do after dropping the microphone, he is one of the most influential figures in Afrobeat history.

Aside from producing and releasing numerous hits, Olamide‘s record label, YBNL introduced the world to sensational artistes such as Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML and nowadays, Asake.

Although not every YBNL signee turned out to amass millions of streams on Spotify and Audiomack, Asake is making sure his name doesn’t fizzle out before he attains his peak.

Further, it is essential to note that Lyta, Portable were never signed to Olamide‘s record label. His input in their development was to give them an edge in the clustered and chaotic music industry. Whatever the artiste chooses to do afterwards is right in their hands and the decision of their management.

For Asake, he is unapologetically utilizing the opportunity given to him; dropping hits weekly to put Nigerians in a chokehold. Time and again, he has expressed excitement since joining Olamide‘s army; he also acknowledged Baddo Sneh‘s contribution on his newly released single, ‘Peace Be Unto You‘.
