Veteran Nollywood thespian, Cynthia Okereke has recounted her ordeal with kidnappers 48 hours after her release alongside her colleague, Clemson Cornel.
Okereke and her colleague, Cornel, were abducted in Enugu State while returning from a shoot on Friday, July 29.
Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) broke the news of their release, noting that the kidnappers who demanded a ransom of $100,000 (approximately N71 million), however, they changed their minds after being touched by God.
According to the statement published on the IG page of AGN on Wednesday, August 3, the kidnapped actors were unscathed and returned in healthy conditions.
“This is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel Agbogidi have been released unhurt. The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas announced their release by the abductors who were touched by the spirit of God to set them free and unharmed,” part of the statement read.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Cynthia Okereke while breaking silence, thanked the fans, security agencies, colleagues and other stakeholders who contributed to their release.
According to her, they were not fed anything during the seven days they spent in captivity.
