A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, D’Asia Johnson, according to reports made on Monday, November 7, 2022.

The man identified as Justin Williams is accused of chopping up the body of D’Asia with a meat cleaver, stuffing her body parts in briefcases while he used cleaning supplies and towels to mask the odour.

Justin is reported to have lived with the decaying body for a month.

Her body parts were discovered on September 21, at her home after conducting a search.

He was charged and indicted on Monday, with murder and concealment of human body parts. Justin was held without bail at his arraignment in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

According to prosecutors, the deceased was stabbed nine times before the suspect began to cut her body.

It was later reported that the suspect allegedly abused D’Asia for two years of their relationship. Always beating her, inflicted bodily injuries on her before her death.

It was also reported that a week after she had gone missing, the security guards had insisted that they check the apartment and Justin had chased them off the property.

A neighbour, Stephanie Harris said, “For two years he (was) beating on her, broke her apartment down, broke her legs, broke her ribs.

“Her mom was complaining, ‘I want to get her away from this building. She’s gonna end up dead, please get her away from this building.’ Nobody wants to listen.”

Surveillance footage showed Justin and D’Asia coming and going from her apartment between Aug. 17 and 21 and after she returned from shift at a Queens Macy’s on 21, she was never seen alive again.

Justin’s new girlfriend showed up the following day after D’Asia’s last appearance on surveillance.

The NYPD Chief of Detectives, James Essig, in an interview with reporters on Monday, said, “He has exclusive opportunity into that apartment and then after the 22nd, which we believe is the day the homicide occurs, we never see her again.

“After the 22nd, Justin Williams’ new girlfriend shows up.”

There were splattered blood all over the house and the suitcases were eventually found.

Ten days her remains were found, the suspect was shipped to Nassau County to face two bail-jumping cases in different cases.

In 2021, he was sought for skipping out on a second-degree assault rap allegedly hitting a 66-year old man in Freeport. Another charge of theft in 2020.
