Ganduje Challenges Kwankwaso To Hold Rally In Kano
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje on Monday challenged NNPP Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso to hold a rally in Kano.
Naija News NG reports that Ganduje challenged Kwankwaso to test his popularity in Kano while speaking on the large turnout at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally for Bola Tinubu in the State earlier on Monday.
According to the Governor, many of Kwankwaso’s followers are now with the APC.

“So, if Kwankwaso thinks that he can win the party, let him hold a march like this and compare what will happen if he can do so,” Ganduje said on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday evening.
Ganduje further questioned the political relevancy of Ibrahim Shekarau, who he noted was moving from one party to another and losing a large number of his followers in the process.
The Governor believes that Shekarau has left a majority of his followers in the All Progressives Congress, the NNPP and suggested that no one knows the former Governor’s next moves.

IPOB : Nnamdi Kanu Demands N20b Compesations And Apologies From Malami
Nnamdi Kanu has demanded the sum of N20 billion and an apology from the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
Naija News NG reports that the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB , is demanding compesation for alleged defamatory and libelous claims against his person .
Nnamdi Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, said Malami’s claim that he jumped bail despite a court order clearing him was libellous.
Recall that the military had invaded Kanu’s premises at Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Abia State on 10th September, 2017, and this led to him fleeing the country.
The alleged invasion was contested and tagged a violation of Kanu’s fundamental human right.
But, the courts ruled that the invasion was unlawful, illegal, and unconstitutional.
Speaking on the issue, Malami was quoted as saying: “To release or not to release Nnamdi Kanu is a function of law and the rule of law for that matter. In arriving at a decision on whether to release or not release, is one; you look at the rule of law, two; you look at the public and the national interest, three; you look at the security situation, four; you look at the international diplomacy.

“Let me talk first of the rule of law. This is someone that has been granted bail on account of charges that have been preferred against him at the court. Someone jumping bail to the international community, a case of a fugitive is established against the background of jumping the bail.
“Two, arising from the national security, this is someone that is charged with treason, incitement and destruction of civil authority, murder and assassination of others on account of his incitement, that boils down to issues of national security and criminality.
“Three, on account of international diplomacy, this is someone that has against his person, used the international community or a foreign country to launch an attack against a nation, against his nation for that matter.
“So all these naturally come into play to determine what to do. So if you have, through judicial processes, established multiple cases of treason, homicide, and bail-jumping, among others, the fact that you have indeed succeeded in one case as against multiple others that are pending, goes to establish the fact that that case cannot be the only basis and criterion for determining whether you are entitled to be released or not.”
Condemning Malami’s remark, Ejimakor said: “Despite the clear exoneration from jumping bail contained in the Judgment exhibited and quoted above, you have, after 19th January 2022 when this judgment was rendered, defamed and libelled our Client by your several utterances and publications (in national dailies) where you falsely stated that our Client jumped bail.
“In view of the said judgment of the Abia State High Court, your above utterances were false, malicious and reckless and they were read and heard worldwide and portrayed our Client in light.
Ejimakor stated this in a letter addressed to Malami tagged: “RE: Pre-action notice and formal demand for settlement of the claim of defamation/libel of the character of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu grounded on your false, defamatory and libelous publications that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu jumped bail.”
The letter reads partly: “The sum of N20,000,000,000.00 (Twenty Billion Naira only) being general and exemplary damages.
“An unreserved personal letter of apology, to be prominently and boldly published full-page in two Nigerian Newspapers of national circulation, namely: Guardian Newspaper and Sun Newspaper.
“You shall write and deliver to your superior officer(s) and/or your employer(s) a Legal Opinion to the effect that our Client did not jump bail in view of the 19th January 2022 Judgment of the High Court of Abia State.
“The foregoing demands are without prejudice to other options or terms for settlement that you may counter-propose in response to this Letter. We, therefore, request that, with a view to settling this claim out of court, you respond to this Letter by Legal Mail (to the email on this Letterhead) within three (3) days of the receipt of this Letter. In the event that you fail to do so, our Client shall immediately commence legal proceedings against you without any further notice.”

On the 2023 elections, he said: “It never ceases to amaze me how often we see comments, claims, and assertions from people in social and traditional media about what our supposed objectives are in the elections, which candidate or party we favour, how to interpret certain statements or actions of ours in terms of what it means about our intentions are perceptions.
“In reality, I think it’s quite simple to interpret us, especially when it comes to the elections. We always try to be clear in our messages, so let me be clear here on several important points:
“The United States does not support any individual candidate or party in this election cycle (or for that matter, in any other upcoming election). Our interest is in supporting credible and transparent elections that reflect the will of Nigerian voters, in a process that is conducted peacefully. Full stop. Individuals seeking to undermine the democratic process, including through violence, may be found ineligible for visas to the United States.
“We have imposed visa restrictions in the past against those responsible for, or complicit in, undermining the democratic process, and remain fully willing to do so again in the context of the upcoming elections.”
He advised parties, candidates, and their supporters to avoid language that tries to “guarantee” victory, adding that there is no true democratic election in which the outcome is foretold.

I went to Dubai earlier this year, I left Nigeria with only my backpack My intention was to buy travel bags in Dubai and shop for the few things I would need over there I got to the mall, the shop where they sell travel bags was manned by Nigerians Two Yoruba speaking guys, I pretended as if I didn’t understand what they were saying and stuck to English I picked the bags I wanted, it was time to pay, They said there is a tax that I’d have to pay on the bags By their calculation I should pay 100 Diram extra.
I spoke to them in Yoruba at that point I said “Why are you guys being dishonest?” The other shop where I bought Jalabias and Abayas, the guys kept everything I bought for me and told me I should return with the bags to pick them up They told me I will collect the tax deductions back at the airport and made my shopping seamless And here you are trying to cheat me Is it because this is not your business so you don’t care if you made sales or not?”
They turned it to street slang immediately “Chairman, na the hustle etc” It was terrible I bought the bags at the right price When I left the shop I walked towards another section of the mall and saw another Nigerian She was selling skin care, nail care whatever She latched on to me from afar “Please come buy something for madam, let me help you with your nails etc I realized she is a Nigerian I told her I am not interested In her products.
She then said “Are you in Dubai alone? I can come and see you at your hotel when I close from work and/or take you around for a fee” I was shocked You have a job, why would you throw yourself at a man just like that Guess what she said “It’s the hustle, my rent is 300 Diram a month and I have to pay other bills I have to save I used to work in a bank in Nigeria before coming here, I regret leaving because the cost of living here is so high and what I make is never enough In Nigeria, I was able to save and take care of my needs of my salary I am here now and I cannot go home empty handed”
I sensed the sincerity in her voice and ended up buying a lot of Petra skin care products just to support her On my way back to Nigeria, I got to the airport Right from the moment I dropped from the cab, Nigerians were all over me Have you filled your Permission to travel form? You cannot fly without it You need your Covid card to fill it If you don’t have Covid card you can pay us so and so amount and we will help you get it done I had all my documents, so I ignored them.
The next thing was “sir you don’t have much luggage. Can you help us carry some luggage back to Nigeria? You don’t need to clear them when you get home, just help us by claiming the bags are yours from here and the bags will be tagged to you Someone will clear them in Nigeria We have only Jalabias and Abayas in the bag Nothing incriminating You have a right to carry 23Kg of luggage and it will just waste if you don’t use it Please help us, help our hustle” I saw them pitching the same line to many other Nigerians As for me, I like to travel light.
I shook my head and checked in A few months later, I was coming back from the UK When I got to Heathrow, I was told I had to fill this permission to travel form again I usually would have filled it from the hotel but it escaped my mind I stepped aside from the queue to fill the form When I was done, I returned to the queue to check in A Yoruba lady shouted “Go and join the queue, why are you jumping the queue?” I ignored her.
She was with her mother and younger brother. They were behind me on the queue and wouldn’t have caught up with me if not for the form I was filling She raised her voice and started screaming, the airport security stepped in and told her to shut up She kept pointing at me, as if I gave her belle and refused to collect it I kept ignoring She didn’t let it go She began to speak that fake British accent I ignored still Then she switched to Yoruba and I started laughing She sabi abuse for Yoruba well well I was raised in Ibadan too but those days had no place in me any longer Guess what?
She was not traveling She only came to see her mother off Guess who ended up helping her non literate mother all the way from the UK to Qatar and then to Nigeria? It was I When we got to Nigeria, her mother blessed me She said “You showed me today by your conduct that you were well brought up. Thank you so much for helping me. God bless you”
We all have a lot to do in bringing the greatness of Nigeria back, we can highlight the short comings all we want but each of us must do what we have to when we have to do it to make Nigeria Great Again!
