Fashion entrepreneur, Kourtney Kardashian and her lover, Travis Baker just recently got engaged and both have around each other since inception of their relationship.
For months, we’ve seen the two canoodling, smooching, and dressing like. With Kardashian borrowing from the drummer’s closet and sucking his thumb in an intimate Instagram post, their love is undeniable and, often coordinated, style-wise.
All of a sudden, we saw the most dead-pan Kardashian go from celebrity Cali girl style, exemplified by a rotation of bandage dresses, to the world of rare vintage clothing (courtesy of her stylist Dani Michelle), to her Barker-era, defined by pieces that would have the cast of The Craft eating their own hearts out. Kardashian is now a bonafide dark lord lady in her leather jackets, body-skimming black tube tops, black vinyl pants, and Travis by her side.
There has been a lot of talk of Kardashian morphing into Travis, and yet, it feels like she simply found someone who gets her both inside and out. Look closely, and you’ll see that Kourtney has long favored edgy details. We’ve seen her in black leather trenches and curve-hugging dresses, and that infamous Celine color-blocked leather coat with black leather pants.
To be sure, her look became more punk when she hooked up with Barker. During their courtship, she wore an infamous shirt that read “Beat me, Bite me, Suck me….”, a necklace that was made out of jumbo safety pins, and Barker’s gruesome Cannibal Corpse shirt that boasted a half skeleton, half man chomping on his own intestines (on separate occasions). She’s embracing the midnight temptress vibe that’s always been present in her wardrobe.
One example? A few days before their engagement, we saw Kardashian and Barker step out in a matching look. Barker was wearing a patched and studded leather jacket with a white T-shirt black pants and a pair of Doc Martens.
Kardashian wore a similar look but Kourtney-fied it in her own haute way, opting for a vintage Mugler leather fringed jacket, spandex, and combat boots that she topped off with an itty-bitty Balenciaga bag. She never looked better—or more at home in her own skin.
