Subsidy payment is no longer sustainable — El-Rufai

It has been recently reported that a Kano woman, Malama Khadija, from Rani Local Government Area, had ended her own marriage to marry her daughter’s suitor.

Her family members are against the marriage as they called it shameful. However, speaking with the radio station, Freedom Radio, Khadija revealed that she intentionally married her daughter’s suitor and she did it with the man’s consent.

According to her, the man was rejected by her daughter as a suitor and because she did not want both of them to lose the man, she went after him to ask for his hand in marriage which he agreed. She went further to say that she is fine and living happily with her new family.

She said, “I didn’t marry him with ignorance. Clerics told me marrying him was not prohibited, so I contacted him and he agreed.

“I married him intentionally with his consent. However, my parents and relatives refused to do the marriage rites”.
